Animal experiments

Animal testing is widely used for the medical purposes. It is highly needed in testing and proving the effectiveness of new medicine.  The most common animals used in the experiments and medical research are the mice and rabbits. The purpose behind testing these types is the fact that it offers valuable insights into the working of the human systems. In the medical research centers, studies using animals in the experiments have supported all the progress of understanding and treating the cancer and showing the best ways to treat it.  As an example, one of the most important cancer drugs discovered and developed by the animal research is the tamoxifen (breast cancer drugs) that saved hundreds of thousands of women’s lives. Worldwide, the majority of the treatments are relying on animal testing and it is proven that it has many benefits on the human lives.

On the other hand, the number of animals used in the medical research is very high and millions of these are locked inside cages in laboratories where they burned, poisoned and abused. In my opinion, animals should not be forced into cruel experiments for our benefit cause recent research shows that there are alternative ways instead of using animals can be done. The medical labs should follow the Animal Welfare Act (AWA) rules and not abused them.
